![]() All attempted to transfer me and transfer me with each person being for BUDGET CAR RENTAL. You will need to call me in this IMMEDIATELY as I am not HAPPY with the fact I was FORCED to drive your VAN and no one at 800- customer service with many calls to them was for the truck rental dept. Then to the airport where both trips were a moot point because neither location wanted to receive a MALFUNCTIONING VAN that led me to drive it back to the location of pick up. He also stated I used more miles!!! He was charging me for the extra trip to a location in Ocala where they were contacted by him and was adamant they could not get me into a car safely as well. I do have my RECEIPT showing I did BUY THE GAS before returning it!!! The guy smelled of marijuana, you do need to do a random drug test on the guy at 40 St N and 66 St immediately! He put the $225 deposit back in my card and threatened to charge me for not putting the gas back to half a tank. He was belligerent and refused to check me out at all and walked out of the office. Upon arrival, the leasing guy continued to mouth at me and refused to take ACCOUNTABILITY and DENIED what he was doing when he CLEARED or attempted to- the sensor on the van's dash. You not only have no way to reach 800- for TRUCK rentals because the people on the other end deal with car rentals only, but I was forced to drive it back 2 hours with the same outcome. It's my understanding that all Utah Budget locations (with the exception of maybe the airport) are part of this franchise group, and thus I would strongly recommend renting with another company. PLEASE do not give these people your business. Obviously the absence of this language works in my favor. Interesting to note: nowhere on the rental agreement is there language about a $450 fee for smoke smell. In addition, the location also charged me an extra $75 that no one has been able to account for (this was in addition to the $450 for smoke smell). I do feel obligated to make the public aware of how this company does business, as this practice is crooked as Hell. ![]() I will likely contest the charge with my credit card company, in which case the fee will be refunded because the location has no proof of the issue. Luckily I have dated photos of the vehicle along confirmation that this fee was charged based on the opinion of one young woman. Falsely accusing people of smoking in vehicles is a great way to make money without any effort. ![]() ![]() This is a negative reflection on both Budget and the location in particular, as Budget allows businesses to operate under their name despite unethical practices. I called corporate Budget, they agreed to send a request to the location manager to remove the fee but indicated that they had no control over what the location would do given that the location is a franchise. After doing so I again asked if anyone else was present to confirm the issue and she stated that she was the only one at the location. ![]()
